چکیده

Technical sil icones have been applied in many fields of science and industry because of their chemical stability and their unique combina t ion of useful properties [1,2] , In the fol lowing the densit ies p and self diffusion coefficients D for a small series of low molecular weight sil icones have been measured in a wide temperature and pressure range. The aim of this study is to compare the density and temperature dependence of D in this class of c o m p o u n d s to the one observed in a similar series of long liquid n-alkanes [3]. In comparison to the alkanes the silicones possess much lower melt ing pressure curves and offer the possibility to study the liquid state in a significantly larger temperature range, thus providing more stringent tests for the applicabil i ty of models for the molecular dynamics .

An Analytical Equation of State for Saturated Liquid Refrigerant Ternary Mixtures

In this work an analytical equation of state has been employed to calculate the PVT properties ofternary refrigerant mixtures. The theoretical EoS is that of Ihm, Song and Mason, which is based onstatistical-mechanical perturbation theory, and the two constants are enthalpy of vaporization ΔHvapand molar density ρnb, both at the normal boiling temperature. The following three temperaturedepende...

Modeling of Pressure Dependence of Interfacial Tension Behaviors of Supercritical CO2 + Crude Oil Systems Using a Basic Parachor Expression

Parachor based expressions (basic and mechanistic) are often used to model the experimentally observed pressure dependence of interfacial tension (IFT) behaviors of complex supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) and crude oil mixtures at elevated temperatures. However, such modeling requires various input data (e.g. compositions and densities of the equilibrium liquid and vapor phases, and molec...

The Liquid Density of Complex Liquid Mixtures

A second virial coefficient correlation suitable for two different temperatures ranges, (T*)-2£180 and (T*)-2>180, where T* is RT/DHvap is presented. The equation of state can be calculated for different, complicated non-polar, and slightly polar liquid mixtures at any temperature over the range from Ttp to T<su...

Investigation into the temperature dependence of isotropic- nematic phase transition of Gay- Berne liquid crystals

Density functional approach was used to study the isotropic- nematic (I-N) transition and calculate the values of freezing parameters of the Gay- Berne liquid crystal model. New direct and pair correlation functions of a molecular fluid with Gay- Berne pair potential were used. These new functions were used in density functional theory as input to calculate the isotropic- nematic transition den...
